Join the Council for British Archaeology’s ‘Local Heritage Engagement Network’ (LHEN) team working with community heritage and archaeology groups in the North West for an advocacy day at Pendle Heritage Centre.
During the event delegates will hear from Peter Iles, Specialist Advisor for Archaeology to Lancashire County Council; Suzanne Lilley, Casework Officer for the Council for British Archaeology and Mike Nevell, Head of Archaeology at the University of Salford and Chair of the North West group of the Council for British Archaeology.
Learn how the heritage provision in the North West, in particular the Lancashire area, is managed by local authorities and how to engage with these policy makers. We will give practical guidance on “what is advocacy” and how to campaign in a time of austerity as well as providing opportunities for delegates to network.
There will be plenty of inspiration and advice on how to manage and develop your own community engagement.
