NAA was founded on passion and determination in 1990 to serve planning- and development-led archaeology and to safeguard and promote the heritage of North East England. Since that time, the company’s underlying culture and motivation haven’t changed, but NAA has grown into one of the largest commercial heritage and archaeology businesses in the north of England. Our permanent team of more than 40 highly trained specialists comprises planning and buildings consultants, experienced project managers and fieldwork officers, geophysicists, surveyors, CAD technicians, illustrators, and archaeological finds and palaeoenvironmental staff. Our team’s expertise and dedication are reflected in our right-first-time approach and our demonstrable track record of completing projects on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Our flexible and professional ethos creates the vital harmony between recording the historic environment and helping improve the built environment. We are dedicated to fulfilling our clients’ needs, whether that’s helping them to better understand the heritage in their local area, or enabling their projects to efficiently advance through planning. NAA’s reputation is built on providing high-quality guidance and mitigation solutions and we offer industry best-practice approaches to minimise archaeological risk to development.
Diversity is at the core of our philosophy at NAA. We have a vibrant portfolio of works across the UK, which includes an extensive range of different development and infrastructure projects and showcases the broad scope of heritage and archaeology services we provide. At NAA, we understand that no two schemes are the same, and we are therefore committed to providing the most appropriate tailored advice and solutions to ensure successful outcomes for our clients. To enable NAA to continue providing first-class services, we are equally committed to developing our in-house skills base and the potential of our staff: encouraging and supporting our talented individuals is the keystone of our future achievements.
