    Summary:
    The Institute for Lifelong Learning (TILL) is currently responsible for part-time undergraduate teaching provision in the
    University; it is a significant provider in the region; and makes a major contribution to the University's widening participation
    agenda. The University of Sheffield is exceptionally proud of the important role that the Institute plays in terms of civic and
    community engagement and the provision of high quality academic programmes for adult learners.
    The postholder will join a team of programme directors, tutors and support staff and will play a key role in TILL's work by
    managing and developing two important and well-regarded programmes; the BSc in Natural and Human Environments and
    the Certificate in Archaeology. The main duties include providing leadership for the programmes, developing the curriculum,
    managing student recruitment and co-ordinating the delivery of modules and student assessment. A further key duty will be
    to continue to build links with local cultural and heritage organisations.
    Applicants should have good honours degree in Archaeology, Geography, Ecology or a relevant subject area and a PhD in a
    relevant area, as well as experience of teaching on part-time undergraduate degrees in the field and of working with local
    organisations as partners in curriculum delivery and recruitment.
    The post is to provide maternity cover from 4 March 2013 to 20 September 2013 and is part-time (0.5 FTE)
