Archaeological Services WYAS is seeking to increase its database of field staff (supervisory and assistant grades) available for short-term fixed contracts and casual employment on forthcoming and potential sites in Yorkshire and the north of England. Candidates should have appropriate commercial experience and, preferably, IfA membership. CSCS accreditation and a clean driving licence are desirable for all candidates.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and their references checked. Satisfactory candidates will then be added to the database of eligible workers.
The length of contracts will be determined by the staff requirements of the various projects. Casual employees may be transferred on to fixed term contracts as projects develop. Rates of pay exceed BAJR minima and all employees will receive a leave entitlement and will be provided with PPE and appropriate induction and training.
The normal working week is 37 hours, although staff engaged on a casual basis may work less.
