posted 11 Mar 2014, 16:32 by Paul Brayford   [ updated 12 Jan 2016, 09:16 ]
The Department of Archaeology at York is seeking to appoint a lectureship on open contract to build upon existing strengths and to support further growth in teaching and research.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research and teaching within one or more of the following areas, comprising research objectives within the Department’s five year research plan: the historic environment; environmental archaeology; cultural and/or digital heritage. (For clarity, ‘historic environment’ is taken to include material and cultural environments and is the arena within which we study our social interaction and relationships with the natural world.) It is anticipated that candidates will have a proven international research record within one or more of these areas, contributing to the Department of Archaeology's growing research reputation and wider impact. In addition, candidates should possess a clear research vision as well as interest and ability in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and administration.

Informal enquiries may be made via claire.mcnamara@york.ac.uk.

The post is available from 1 September 2014.
