FORUM - The Journal of Council for British Archaeology Yorkshire

Our Annual Journal

FORUM is our flagship annual journal where community, independent, professional, museum, commercial and academic archaeologists (and practitioners in complementary fields) working in Yorkshire report their research or extend discussions about archaeological and allied issues.

We aim to publish it in February each year, so that it can be distributed at our AGM and Symposium.

All members get a copy included in their membership subscription.

New members joining during the year will receive the current edition of FORUM, subject to availability, in addition to the forthcoming volume at the end of the subscription year. Inquiries about additional copies, including non-members and overseas customers, should be emailed to secretary@cba-yorkshire.org.uk.

From FORUM Volume 5 2016 onwards it takes the form of a two-part publication: a slim printed journal containing abstracts of the articles and an electronic volume containing the full content.

New Series content, availability and open access

CBA Yorkshire operates a "green level" Open Access policy: upon publication of each annual volume in hard copy, the prior year's volume becomes available as an electronic publication which can be read online in a web browser and downloaded to your computer as a PDF format document.

Back-copy content and availability

A limited supply of New Series vols 1, 2, 3 and 4 and older Foundation Series back-copies are available to CBA Yorkshire members and non-members. Enquiries about back-copies, including overseas customers, should be emailed to secretary@cba-yorkshire.org.uk.

Write for the FORUM Journal — We'll help you spread the word!

Contributions are welcome from anybody involved in Yorkshire archaeology—fieldwork, research, community projects, education, commercial and developer-led activities. Items for the next volume should be submitted by 31 October at the latest for availability in February the next year. Please contact the editor for templates.

Not written before? Don’t be put off. Editorial assistance is available on request to help aspiring writers showcase their work! Contact forum-editor@cba-yorkshire.org.uk
