Markings and dateable features on vernacular buildings

Dayschool from the Yorkshire Vernacular Building Study Group (YVBSG) held jointly with Yorkshire Archaeological Society at Headingley Campus, Beckett's Park, Leeds Metropolitan University. Group AGM follows at 5pm. Examining markings on buildings, such as carpenters' marks, and dated features such as door heads. These features can help us understand the buildings, the builders, craftsmen and people in them in many ways, thereby increasing our knowledge of building dating, constructional methods, through to culture, fashion and symbolism. Buffet lunch available for 9GBP extra (25GBP total).
