CBA Yorkshire has arranged with York Archaeological Trust to visit this year’s YAT ‘Archaeology Live!’ Hungate Training Excavation on Saturday 8 September followed by a tour of the Hungate Exhibition at the DIG Museum in nearby St Saviourgate. We have also arranged for CBA Yorkshire Trustee and volunteer guide, Ian Drake, to show us around the Minster Close, exploring some of the little-known history of this area at the centre of the City.

The itinerary for the day is:-

10.30-12.30 Tour of the Excavation followed by a tour of the Hungate Exhibtion at DIG led by YAT archaeologist Toby Kendall
12.30-14.00 Lunch – either bring a packed lunch or choose from the many restaurants, cafes and pubs in the area
14.00-15.30 Tour of the Minster Close led by Ian Drake. Meet outside the west door of York Minster

The cost of the day will be £6 per person to include entry to the Hungate Exhibition and small donations to our guides. Payment will be collected on the day.
