Sheffield: South Yorkshire Archaeology Day - 24 Nov 2012

10.00 am to 4.30 pm, at the Showroom Cinema, Paternoster Row, Sheffield. 

Organised by South Yorkshire Archaeology Service. 

Fee £10, concessions £5. Advance booking strongly recommended.

Talks this year include:
  • New technology for old sites: surveying Silkstone Tramway and Rockley Furnace.
  • The restoration of Shepherd Wheel.
  • Heritage Makers: 100 years of the Hunter Archaeological Society.
  • Recording the West Riding.
  • Barnsley's 'new' archaeological collections.
  • 10,000 years of an archaeological landscape: Pastures Road, Mexborough.
  • Excavation of a late pre-historic and Romano-British landscape at Grange Farm, Rossington.
  • Analysing the burials from Rotherham Minster.
The day usually sells out so you will need to book in advance. You can download the booking form from the downloads section below. Lunch is not provided with the ticket price but if you would like to book a lunch on the day there is a form attached.
