A two mile circular walk through the woods to discover evidence of charcoal production, iron and coal mining and the establishment of the Low Moor Iron Company, to witness how people reacted with the geology to modify the landscape and the archaeological remains which serve as evidence.The two mile circular walk is ranked as moderate (appropriate footwear and clothing required) but will involve some marshy areas. Parts of the walk are accessible to wheelchair users with suitable re-joining points along the way. Accompanied older children welcome.
There will be a collection for voluntary contributions.
