We are pleased to announce that the CBA YORKSHIRE 2015 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING and SYMPOSIUM will be held on Saturday 7 February 2015 at the Stoddart Lecture Theatre, Stoddart Building, Sheffield Business School, Arundel Gate, Sheffield (on the Sheffield Hallam University City Campus)

Full details including a booking form are attached but the day will include talks on a variety of archaeological topics from across Yorkshire including:
  • Recent Work of West Yorkshire Archaeological Services
  • ‘Unlocking Swinton's Roman Past’ and the use of Internet crowdfunding 
  • Recent excavations at York Guildhall 
  • Paleopathology in Yorkshire 
  • A summary of new research on the Whitby Abbey Headland, 1993-2014 
  • The Sheffield Pals training camp at Redmires 
  • New Research at Beauchief Abbey, Sheffield 
  • Trading Histories and Imaginary Castles: two community projects in the heart of Sheffield 
The cost of the day is £10 (per member) or £14 (per non-member) morning tea/coffee is inclusive. Lunch is not provided but there are a range of pubs and cafes nearby or you can bring a packed lunch.

The day starts at 10:00 am with our AGM, followed by the Symposium at 11:20

The Stoddart Building at Sheffield Hallam University is a short walk from the main Sheffield (Midland) railway station which also has a tram stop serving the Park and Ride services (see

It is also a short walk from the Sheffield Interchange bus station.

For those of you that wish to drive in to central Sheffield (not advised) there is a NCP multi-storey car park at Arundel Gate ( and an APCOA car park at Eyre Street (
