Held 7.30 to 9pm in Reeth on methods and techniques that SWAAG has developed to enable non-specialist enthusiasts to survey prehistoric landscape features to a significant degree of accuracy using GPS receivers and to convert this data into publication-standard maps and plans using free or cheap computer software. Whilst the workshops are primarily for SWAAG members, some places should be available for interested non-members, BY PRIOR RESERVATION ONLY owing to restraints on space and IT equipment. You can see the sort of ground to be covered in the 'Publications' section and the 'SWAAG GPS Surveying Technology' section where there are papers on the methods to be covered by the workshops. Cost £3 per workshop. Contact SWAAG, web www.swaag.org.
