Ingleborough Archaeology Group Programme of Practical Activities 2011

1. Documentary Research Group - initially focussing on Southerscales and Newby manor

2. Traditional Farm Building Census - continuing the work from 2010

3. Ingleborough Summit - assisting on an English Heritage project to manage archaeological features, carried forward from 2010

4. Training sessions in detailed surveying - learn how to compile archaeological plans on Keld Bank, Chapel le Dale

5. Scales Moor Project - field walking and mapping of archaeological features on Scales Moor, as a follow up to the Ingleborough Terraces work of the last four years

6. Natural England Open Day at Ribblehead Quarry - a day with much on offer to the general public, with IAG putting on archaeological tours and activities. 24th July

7. Ingleton Tradespeople's Association Overground-Underground Festival - a weekend of activities including summit tours by the IAG, a walk on the Terraces led by the IAG and an evening public talk. 28th - 30th May

8. 'Fissure' event - a fun-packed day at Kingsdale Head. 20th or 22nd May

9. Ease Gill field mapping - a day mapping an enclosure

10. Upper Pasture Project, Selside - surveying and excavation of a rectilinear stone-built structure. Starts 14th May

11. Bumby Project, Upper Wharfedale - not an official IAG project but open to members, investigating post-medieval structures between Barden and Drebley. Awaits final consents
