posted 7 Feb 2014, 13:10 by Paul Brayford   [ updated 11 Jun 2016, 12:53 ]

The CBA is hosting a one-day forum for local archaeological and historical societies and community groups from across the UK to come together to explore common issues and share good practice.

The event will take place on Saturday 17 May at the Bar Convent in York. Programme details and booking information to be announced shortly.

The future for societies

The forum was launched in March 2013 with the aim of supporting local societies by stimulating debate on the role of county societies in archaeology in the 21st century. The CBA has circulated a discussion paper presenting the outcomes and a survey to gather wider feedback. Responses will be drawn together and published in spring 2014.

Read the discussion paper and complete our survey to feedback your views.
