Barnsley: Mediaeval Woodland Archaeological Survey 22 Aug - 1 Sep

Come along and help WOLF (Woodland Outreach Learning Foundation) learn more about the history of Cawthorne Park Woodlands. Bell pits, iron smelting, slag heapsand iron ore are all to be found here Work along side archaeologists from Sheffield University to learn surveying techniques and find out what really happened here hundreds of years ago

All are welcome. Children must be accompanied

Monday 22nd to Thursday 25th August 2011
Monday 29th - Thursday 1st September 2011
9:30 - 4:30 each day

Location: Cawthorne Park Woodlands, Near Cawthorne, Barnsley
Entrance to the wood is on Upperfield Lane (between High Hoyland and Kexborough
