YAHS Talks 11th March
In the morning, at 11.00 am, there will be a talk in the Family History Section programme by Catherine Warr on Yorkshire Folklore, Customs and Traditions. This will be a hybrid session, in person at Swarthmore Education Centre (2-7 Woodhouse Square, Woodhouse, Leeds LS3 1AD) and also available via Zoom. Look out for the Zoom details early next week.In the afternoon, from 2.00 pm, there will be an online session in the Medieval Section programme. We regret that this will not be the session originally advertised (about Calverley Old Hall) as the speaker had to cancel at rather short notice. However, our colleague Jo Heron has been able to find a student from the University of York who has kindly offered to step into the breach. He is Fedor Kiyanenko and his topic will be Who were the Anglo-Saxon urbanites?: a new approach to the archaeology of early medieval urban settlement.
As usual for Medieval Section talks one needs to register and the link to do so is:https://us02web.zoom.us/
