Walking tour of Bram Stoker’s Whitby, 4th August 2018, 18:30-20:00
The historic seaside town of Whitby is famous as the setting for Bram Stoker’s classic horror story ‘Dracula’. On this tour we will follow the route taken by the fictional character, Lucy Westenra as she sleepwalked around Whitby under the influence of Count Dracula. The route of the sleepwalk takes in many of the sites of late 19th century Whitby.
We will begin outside the Registry Office next to the car park on West Cliff (YO21 3EG) from where we will explore Victorian Whitby taking a route along the Khyber Pass, and over the river to Tate Hill Pier ending at St Mary’s Church. The tour will take around two hours and will cover about a mile. It will involve walking along some sections of uneven path and climbing steps, including the 199 steps up to St Mary’s Church.
The cost of this tour is £6, payable before the event. Please see the event page for more details: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/walking-tour-of-bram-stokers-whitby-tickets-47842994685
