Online survey – The future of North Yorkshire’s County Record Office Archives (closes 4th June 2018)

Posted on 02/May/2018 Under News

The north Yorkshire County Council is holding a consultation on its archive service. Currently it is based in Northallerton and holds records that stretch back over 800 years. However, the archives service is currently housed in a building that requires an overhaul and online access to the archives is limited. The council would like to change this so that there is better access to the archives for residents of North Yorkshire and beyond, as well as making more links to the wider heritage offer available across the county through the wealth of established heritage groups and providers. Through this the archives would also like to learn from heritage groups and individuals how they can help support preserving the heritage of their local communities.

If you would like to contribute your views in a short survey, please use the link here: https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/archives-future-give-us-your-views. The survey closes on Monday 4th June 2018.
